The Suburbs

The Suburbs

The Suburbs, from Minneapolis, formed and began playing orginal material in the fall of 1977. Their sound is influenced musically by everyone from the Rolling Stones to Karlheinz Stockhausen - which is to say they're well educated but not needlessly eclectric or unfocused. Their lyrics are full of humor and empathy and their style is immediately rhythmic and balanced, yet subtle and challenging.

The group's lineup consists of Beej Chaney on guitar and vocals, Chan Poling on piano and vocals, Bruce Allen on guitar and vocals, Michael Halliday on bass and Hugo Klaers on drums and occasional vocals.
